The perf 10 wheels were introduced into the Bureau in December 1913. This compound perf stamp came from a sheet that had been perforated with the existing perforation machines horizontally and with the new perforation 10 machines vertically. If was likely done in error.
At the time of writing there are 61 stamps recorded. The earliest known example is from January 8th, 2014. This is only nineteen days after the first recorded use of the new perforation 10 machines, which were on booklet panes.
Most of the used stamps have a Chicago, IL or Quincy IL precancel.
