The only record of a used #43. The cancel is probably from a later date.
#43 has the full and complete die design and as such differ entirely from any of the stamps issued from Plates 1 and 2. The paper is harder and much more white and highly finished in appearance. The stamps were frequently separated with scissors. The reprints have no grill. #43 was a perf 12 stamp while earlier stamps were perf 15½.
